Ahh, the 80s. Everything was so fun & easy, and nobody took themselves too seriously---how could we with those NFL-worthy shoulder pads stuffed into our shirts and all that...hair? In the spirit of fun, easy & frivolous, I've teamed up w/ fellow 80s girls Nicki Elson from Nicki Elson's Not-So-Deep Thoughts and Suze from Analog Breakfast to ask you one simple question:
Who was/is your 80s celebrity crush?
Please join our Tumble 4 Ya Blogfest in the Linky below and on
Friday, February 10
Post a picture, video, or whatever of the celebrity you most tumbled for in the 80s---along with your feeble justifications, of course. ;) Or, since it's come to our attention that there are, in fact, persons roaming the planet who weren't of crushing age during the 80s, which 80s star most makes you tumble now? Jon Bon Jovi, perhaps? Christie Brinkly? Or were you more the ambiguous Boy George type?
C'mon, tell us who ya tumbled 4!
(P.S. It's safe to assume we'd love for you to put our Blogfest icon in your sidebar & tell all your friends about it.)

Patrick Swayze was sizzlin in Dirty Dancing.
Kurt Russell was the sexy bad boy/hero in Escape from New York, and futuristic sci fi in 1981.
And NO list would be complete without Harrison Ford in all those fun Indiana Jones escapades! Well, and he was easy on the eyes as Hans Solo, too. :-D
Hmmm... I'd enter, but I was born in 1988, so I'd tumble for whoever would be so mean as to throw me out of my cot. :-D
I signed up!
Yeah, I think this is the old folks blogfest. I'm in!
The 80s ?!?!?! Ahhhhhhhhh! The horror! Okay, I'm in. I know just what to do. Sounds like good times and I'm looking forward to it!
Great fun! I'm signed up - the question now is which one to choose!
What a fun blogfest. I might just join in. LOL!
I really thought Mel Gibson was the hunk of the decade. However, he fell from grace when is bigotry showed it's ugly head. Sam Elliot was right up there is my crushes. I still like to watch his movies. Super fun hop!
It is hard to pick just one, isn't it, Loretta? Patrick, omg, yes.
The 80's was a fab decade, Misha. :)
Yea, Alex, LG & Stephen.
And everyone should go visit Stephen's blog today. His new book is coming out.
It is tough to pick, Linda. Yea, on signing up.
Yea, Madeleine!
C. Lee, I hear ya on that one. And Tom Cruise flaked out on us.
Young Guns was on over the weekend. There's some inspiration, ladies.
There was only Tom Cruise and Andre Agassi for me...and both have their share of craziness. ;(
lol Rek. That seems to be a common ending to the pretty boys. They find craziness.
This sounds like a lot of fun. As a child of the 80's I am so there.
I may have to join this. I've got some other blog fest I'm doing in February so got to go and remind myself what days those are on.
I'm reading "Semper Audacia". That's quite an interesting biomechanical suit thingy that Leda is wearing.
I was about 4 at the time, so the only crushing I was doing was crushing ice cream into the furniture! (not that I ever did that, I was a well behaved child ...)
Hooray! I'm so happy we're doing this together. I cannot wait to see who shows up at all of our blogs on the 10th. :)
I vote that the best thing to ever come out of the 80's was Ghostbusters. Rick Moranis and all. I stand by that vote.
Great idea! It will be tough to choose just one. I was a teenager so crushes were abundant. Looking forward to it.
Fun blogfest!
This will be a fun blog fest! I don't think I will join but I will read.
Oh, what fun! I had so many celebrity crushes in the 1980's.
I'm looking forward to reading these. I do love the 80's :)
This is before my time I'm afraid. :P
I FORGOT about the shoulder pads. The horror! The horror!
Egads! They were so long ago, I barely remember them. Bot, okay, I'm in!
Yea, Melissa. Tubular!
Seems like February is a busy month, Michael. Yeah, the suit thingy came from I don't know where really. Maybe watching astronauts or something.
Into the furniture? lol, Jamie.
Yea! Nicki! Glad you asked me to cohost.
Rick Moranis makes me think of Bob & Doug McKenzie, Beer. Bet they drank beer in the shower.
I was in that very 'crushable' stage in the 80's, too, armchair.
Hi Tonja!
It will be fun, Belle. Like time travel.
Yea, Christine!
The 80's was a fun decade, Jon.
Thanks for stopping in, DWei.
I know, Libby! What were we thinking? Although I found these shoes with zippers on them that i thought hinted at the 80's that I love. My favorite pair.
I remember glimpses, Nancy.
Kelly LeBrock or Princess Leia
MacGyver. Do I really need to explain why??? :D
Aloha,
Thanks for helping organize such a fun blogfest....you have a new follower!
Good choices, G.
No, you don't, Lindsay. I became more RDA obsessed over Stargate. So, much later. I actually never saw MacGyver in the 80's. I didn't have a TV.
Nice meeting you, Mark.
Olivia Newton John. I had it bad. I still get a little tingly when I see Xanadu on TV.
This is such a fantastic idea for a fest, how fun! And how cool that you are one of the hosts! The first name that came to mind when I read about the fest was John Cusack, oh my, did I love him. There is part of me that still wants him under my window holding a boombox. :D
Great blogfest, Mary!
Well, I liked Col. Jack O'Neil just fine, but I liked RDA as a brainy guy a little more. And with the styling 80s mullet too. :P
i was in love with shannon dougherty of 90210. maybe more of a 90s thing. in the 80s, jacqueline smith. or maybe she was 70s.
I'd sign up--but I don't know much (okay, practically nothing) about the 80s . . .
Aww, that's cute, Jay.
That boombox scene will live forever, Julie.
The mullet was fab. He taught us all the importance of duct tape, Lindsay. I'm ashamed to say I never saw an episode of MacGyver until after SG-1 came out. But, as I said, I didn't have a TV when MacG was really popular.
I don't remember when 90210 was on, Ed. But Shannon was on TV before then.
You can tell us who we're missing out on now, Eagle. Besides the Bieber.
I've got my boys lined up and ready to parade.
I am so glad I found this.
I am totally in, and I am even offering a prize to anyone that guesses my 80s crush before I post it!
